What cookies are

Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a website. They are widely used to make websites work, to remember choices you have made, and to provide reporting information to the site operator. Similar technologies, such as local storage in your browser, perform comparable functions. This policy uses the word "cookies" to cover these technologies together.

In the United Kingdom, the use of non-essential cookies is governed by the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations, which require that you are given clear information and a genuine choice before such cookies are placed.

How we use them

We keep our use of cookies deliberately minimal. We use them to remember the choice you make in our consent banner so that you are not asked again on every visit, and, only where you have agreed, to understand in a general and aggregated way how the website is used so that we can improve it. We do not use cookies to track you across other websites or to build advertising profiles.

Types we use

Category Purpose Duration
Strictly necessary Stores the choice you make in the cookie consent banner so that the banner does not reappear on subsequent visits. This record is kept in your browser's local storage and does not track your activity. Up to 12 months
Performance / analytics Set only with your consent. Provides aggregated, anonymised information about how visitors use the site — for example, which pages are viewed — so that we can improve content and navigation. Up to 13 months

If you do not accept analytics cookies, the website remains fully usable; only the strictly necessary record of your choice is kept.

Your consent

When you first visit the site, a banner asks you to accept our use of cookies. Clicking "Accept" records your consent in your browser. You may withdraw or change your consent at any time by clearing the stored record — for example, by clearing site data for this website in your browser — after which the banner will appear again on your next visit.

Withdrawing consent does not affect the lawfulness of any processing carried out before you withdrew it.

Managing cookies in your browser

Most browsers allow you to refuse or delete cookies through their settings, typically found under "Privacy" or "Cookies". You can set your browser to refuse all cookies, to accept only first-party cookies, or to notify you when a cookie is set. Please note that blocking all cookies, including strictly necessary ones, may affect how some parts of the website behave — for example, the consent banner may reappear on every visit.

Third-party links

Our website may contain links to third-party websites. Once you leave our site, the cookie practices of those websites are governed by their own policies, which we encourage you to review. We are not responsible for the privacy or cookie practices of third-party sites.

Updates to this policy

We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time, for example to reflect changes to the technologies we use or to legal requirements. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page indicates when the policy was last revised.
